Hallo zusammen!
Meine Bunny ist nun 7 Jahre alt. Leider sind ihre Backenzähne zu lang. Der Tierarzt hat bereits ein<<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l gekürzt, doch Bunnys Kreislauf <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>chte zu schnell schlapp, um alles entfernen zu können. Der TA möchte dies nun unter Narkose entfernen.
Ich <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>che mir aber so meine Gedanken. Ist Bunny nicht zu alt für eine Narkose? Was ist besser: Narkose oder die Zähne Schritt für Schritt verbunden mit mehrern TA-Besuchen kürzen? Gibt es denn keine Alternative? Was muss ich bzw. der Tierarzt beachten??

wie äusserte sich das denn mit dem kreislauf?
das kein kaninchen diese prozedur angenehm empfindet ist klar, aber zusammengeklappt ist meines wissens noch keines.
kaninchen können seltener sogar doppelt so alt werden wie 7 jahre. aber vielleicht wäre es auch ne alternative den Tierarzt zu wechseln, oder hast du den eindruck er ist kompetent und dein kaninchen einfach so empfindlich? |

Hmm, also im Allgemeinen kann <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>n bei den meisten Kaninchen die Backenzähne auch ohne Narkose kürzen. Natürlich muß der TA sofort unterbrechen, wenn der Kreislauf droht schlapp zu <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>chen, dann muss <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>n zur Not eben ein weiteres <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">Maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l hin um die Behandlung zu beenden oder zumindest ein wenig warten bevor <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>n weiter <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>cht.
Eine Narkose ist natürlich nie ganz ohne Risiko, und bei älteren Tieren nimmt dieses Risiko verständlicherweise auch nicht ab, sondern steigt eher etwas an.
Und falls es nun soweit kommen sollte, dass eine regelmässige Backenzahnbehandlung nötig wird, kann <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>n das Tier ja auch nicht alle paar Wochen in Narkose legen...
Es ist aber auch eine Sache der Gewöhnung, mein einer Rammler hat auch Probleme mit Backenzahn<span class="markcol">spspan>itzen und muss alle paar Wochen zum Kürzen, anfangs fand er das auch gar nicht toll und hat sich beim ersten <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">MAspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l auch so aufgeregt, dass wir die Behandlung unterbrechen mussten, damit er nicht kollabiert. Inzwischen ist er zwar nach wie vor nicht gerade begeister, aber wesentlich kooperativer und ruhiger dabei... |

Also mein Schnuffi hat ein ähnliches Problem. Als ich ihn gerade bekommen hatte( aus Käfighaltung, alleine mit Trofu und do), da wurden seine Backenzähne auch zu lang, weil er kein Heu fraß. Er hat auch eine angeborene Zahnfehlstellung und deshalb haben sich auch Hacken gebildet die entfernt werden mussten. Als er diese Prozedur das erste <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>chen musste, wäre er auch beinahe zusammen geklappt,sein Kreislauf war da<<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>ls noch nicht sehr stabil und seine Zunge fing auch bei der Behandlung an blau zu werden. Mein TA hat sich beeilit, auch noch die letzte Ecke abzuschleifen damit er nicht kolabiert. Das war, als ich Schnuffi gerade erst bekommen hatte, also ne Woche <span class="markcol">spspan>äter, da kannte er mich auch nicht so. Seit dem halte ich ihn jetzt meistens selber fest bei der Behanldung und siehe da, an meine Brust gedrückt sind wir auf ein<<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l ganz ruhig! Als Schnuffi vor 8 Wochen kastriert wurde, habe ich dieses <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l die Zahnbehandlung gleich unter Narkose erfolgen lassen, war so gesagt ein Aufwasch und ich musste ihm den Stress nicht nochein<<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l durchstehen lassen.
Hast du ein<<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l mit deinem TA geredet wie hoch das Risiko bei einem 7 Jahre altem Kaninchen ist?
Ich hatte auch Bangel als ich dieses Jahr 6 Jahre alte Kaninchen kastrieren lies, aber zum Glück klappte alles Problem los.

Also der TA und die Helferin haben das allein ge<<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>cht, der TA hatte wohl den Eindruck, ich könnte das nicht sehen. Er kam schnell mit Bunny wieder raus und erklärte mir, er hätte gern mehr abgeschliffen, doch Bunnys Zunge wurde blau. Vielleicht sollte ich das nächste <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">Maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l dabei sein? Was erwartet mich da? Als Bunny <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l einen Abzess hatte, wurde mir schon ziemlich anders..
Der Arzt schien mir schon kompetent zu sein. Aber Bunny ist auch echt empfindlich ;) Und das mit der Narkose schien mir auch eher ein Vorschlag zu sein, falls wir ohne Narkose gar nichts <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>chen können.
Mein erstes Kaninchen ist mit 12 selig auf meinem Arm eingeschlafen. Nur fürchte ich, dass Bunny wegen der ganzen Leiden ihrer Getreideallergie nicht so alt wird.

Ja, als Bunny ca. 3 Jahre alt war, fing plötzlich sehr starker Durchfall an. Ich habe da<<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>ls noch nicht gewusst, dass die Tiere das Futter von "Vitakraft" & Co. nicht essen dürfen. Bunny ist quasi ein Paradebei<span class="markcol">spspan>iel..GEBT BLOSS KEIN Trofu!
Dann bin ich 2 Jahre von Tierarzt zu Tierarzt gerannt und X Kotproben abegeben, viel Geld bezahlt. Alle empfahlen mir diverse Futterumstellungen. Doch immer blieb das Trofu oder Stroh Bestandteil der Nahrung. Und jeden Tag musste ich das arme Tier baden, sie war völlig eingesaut und hat gestunken wie ein Plumpsklo.
Ich war schon kurz davor, sie einzuschläfern, weil der ewige Durchfall, Bauchschmerzen, Blähungen und Baden doch kein Kaninchnleben sein können. Sie war echt schwach und hatte keine Lebensfreude mehr. Und nie<<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>nd konnte mir helfen-ich war echt ratlos!
Dann war ich vor 2 Jahren bei einer Tierärztin, die den richtigen Riecher hatte. Sie hat mir Trofu ohne Getreide gegeben ("BunnyPlus", davon ist Bunny zwar gesund, aber dick geworden). Und nun muss ich höllisch aufpassen, denn ist irgendwo auch nur eine <span class="markcol">Spspan>ur Getreide drin, bekommt Bunny wieder Durchfall. <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">Maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>nch<<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l hat sie noch leichten Durchfall. Ich denke, dass ihr Verdauungssystem nicht mehr intakt ist. Aber wir <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>chen das beste draus. Momentan hat sie auch einen Partner, und ich glaube sie hat seinen Kot gefressen, denn seitdem die Zwei zusammen sind, hat sie selten noch Durchfall

Hallo Anke,
ich hab auch so ein lang Zahnninchen hier sitzen, ihm konnten wir aufgrung von Leberproblemen kein Narkose zum kürzen der Backenzähne geben. Dann hat mein Tierarzt ihm von Hand mit einer kleinen Ra<span class="markcol">spspan>el ganz vorsichtig die Kanten abgeschliffen, er frißt jetzt deutlich besser. Wir haben jetzt beschlossen, daß wir bei jedem Tierarztbesuch etwas kürzen um Ihm Streß und Narkose zu er<span class="markcol">spspan>aren.
Wenn du sagst Bunny hat nun Gesellschaft, hattest Du Deinen Zweiten mit dabei??
Meiner findet Autofahren und Tierarzt in Gesellschaft auch nur halb so schlimm. Beim Zähne <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>chen haben wir seine Freundin daneben gesetzt und er hat sich nicht ganz so arg aufgeregt.

Die beiden Hasen sind erst seit 1 Woche zusammen und befinden sich noch in der Vergesellschaftung<span class="markcol">spspan>hase.

Meine Tierärztin <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>cht das bei Muck auch nur von Hand, die kleineren <span class="markcol">Spspan>itzen werden mit einer kleinen Handra<span class="markcol">spspan>el abgera<span class="markcol">spspan>elt, bei grösseren <span class="markcol">Spspan>itzen wird dann auch schon <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l zur Zange gegriffen und abgeknipst, das geht dann auch alles ohne Narkose. |

| Also eine Narkose hat er nicht benutzt. Ich glaube er hat ein Gerät dafür genommen, bin mir aber nicht sicher. Und ich meinte "von Hand feilen" auch eher in dem Sinne, dass er es mit viel Zeit und behutsam <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>cht. Ich hatte eben aus deiner Schilderung geschlossen dass er bisher vermutlich mit einem Gerät gearbeitet hat, wobei ich persönlich es zu riskant finde, bei einem wachen Kaninchen mit einem elektrischen Gerät die Zähne zu <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>chen. Mit der Handra<span class="markcol">spspan>el ist es nicht so schlimm, wenn das Tier <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l zuckt, aber wenn <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>n ein elektrisches Gerät benutzt, das die Zähne abra<span class="markcol">spspan>elt oder gar wie eine Art Trennscheibe arbeitet, dann kan es denke ich schon zu Verletzungen im Mund kommen wenn das Kaninchen <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l nicht ganz still hält... |

War gerade beim TA und habe ihn gefragt, warum er eigentlich gern eine Narkose <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>chen will. Er meinte, weil die Problemzähnchen bei Bunny so weit hinten liegen, dass er da nicht ran kommt, zudem wehrt sie sich, was alles noch schwieriger <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>cht. Er würde eine Inhalationsnarkose <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>chen. Muss ich <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l drüber nachdenken.

Es gibt Kaninchen, die so aufgeregt bei so was sind, dass <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>n <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>nch<<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l nicht um eine Narkose herumkommt. Olli hat ja schon einiges zur Narkose gesagt.
Im Endeffekt müssen Du und der TA entscheiden, was in Deinem Fall sinnvoller ist.
Was mich interessiert...warum genau hat sie denn solche Probleme mit den Backenzähnen? Was fütterst Du denn alles? Oft<<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>ls kann <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>n mit opti<<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>ler Fütterung das Problem beseitigen oder zumindestens verkleinern.

Ich muß da ernährungstechnisch auch noch <<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>l nachhaken. Deiner Schilderung nach bekommt Bunny nach wie vor Trockenfutter. Nur eben welches ohne Getreide. Warum?
Kaninchen brauchen überhaupt kein Trockenfutter. Warum ernährst du sie nicht lieber artgerecht und gibst nur Heu und Gemüse? Damit hättest du evtl. zwei Fliegen mit einer Klappe geschlagen. |
Das Denken ist zwar allen Menschen erlaubt, aber vielen bleibt es erspart.

Ich bin gerade dabei, das Futter weg zu lassen. Nachdem ich gemerkt habe, dass Bunny davon a) dick, b) weniger Heu frisst und c) deshalb Probleme mit den Zähnen hat, reduziere ich es Stück für Stück. Aber als Bunny da<<span class="markcol">spspan>an <<span class="markcol">spspan>an class="markcol">classspan class="markcol">spspan>an>="markcol">maspan class="markcol">spspan>an>ls endlich durchfallfrei war, habe ich das Trofu weiter gefüttert. Ich denke, das ist nach so vielen Jahren Durchfall verständlich. Bin ja erst nach 19 Jahren Hasenhaltung auf eure Seite gekommen und weiß seitdem erst, dass Trofu schädlich statt nützlich ist.

Heu ist gerade für die Zähne gaaaanz, gaaanz wichtig. Denn das Heu sorgt für einen anständigen Zahnabrieb und der wäre ja nun bei deiner Bunny superwichtig
